Programs designed to use electricity more efficiently - doing the same with less. for the benefit of disadvantaged people in sub-Saharan Africa.

Consulting firms, manufacturers, distributors, promoters and other service providers are eligible, however their activities should promote energy accessEnergy access represents a crucial yet often overlooked dimension to the issue of poverty. Relatively small amounts of energy can satisfy the basic needs of rural populations and have a dramatic impact on quality of life. Despite this, approximately 3 billion people , half the worlds population, ... in sub-Saharan Africa. The POWEO Foundation Awards 2010 gives prizes based on the following categories:

  • A “Grand Prix FE Poweo” for all types of candidates
  • A “Woman Award” that distinguishes women leaders and company founders.
  • A “Co-Development Award “for an action initiated by migrants living in France or resettled in sub-Saharan Africa.

Prizes winners will receive EURO 10,000.
